Sazabi: building a mobile suit with real weight
Sazabi has a sense of weight that is hard to ignore. The broad shoulders, layered armor and deep red color make it feel powerful before you even add the weapons. It is not trying to be delicate. The design wants to fill the space around it and make the shelf feel smaller.
That makes the build satisfying in a different way from a lighter, faster-looking Gundam. Each panel adds to the feeling of mass, and the finished model has the presence of something built for a final confrontation. Sazabi is the kind of kit that rewards taking your time because the details are part of the character, not just decoration.
Thoughts on scale, armor and why Sazabi feels like a centerpiece rather than another kit.
